عنوان المقالة يبدو راهب للمثليّة. المحاولة للاعتداء لا يدلّ على هوية ر.ر. إذا كان مثليّ أو لا.

"Man ... for homosexual attempt" The title has caught my eye, having read the article; R.R. had attempted to rape another man, this by no means indicates his sexual orientation. It seems to be a homophobic title; I don't think it's a reasonable idea to have a title that blames a particular sexual orientation for a crime. I doubt the GulfNews would publish an article saying something like, "Expat jailed for heterosexual rape." A rape, regardless of the victim and the criminal, is still a rape. Do not blame homosexuals for a crime criminals might attempt.

It is absurd to write it the way they have. It was not a homosexual attempt, it was a rape at the end of the day. they take the focus off the actual crime and place it on homosexuality it seems.
One wonders which they feel is worse?
There's no need to wonder, I think, it's out in the open their "undiscussed opinion" about it all.
You know, I doubt my letter would be published, or read, for that matter. I received an automated email saying that if the address and daytime telephone were not given, the letter will not be taken into consideration. I only gave them a link to the posts and my email address. I'll bet that they completely disregarded my email, due to beaurocratic purposes, of course.
